The Laboratory of RNA Structure and Function

We identify and study functional RNA structures.

RNA structure modulates virtually all processes involving RNAs, from transcription initiation and termination, to splicing, localization, translation control, and RNA decay. Yet, our understanding of how RNA structure affects these processes and beyond is still largely open for exciting discoveries.

The Reis Lab applies cutting-edge methods in RNA biology to identify and characterize functional RNA structures. We place a strong focus on uncovering novel, fundamental processes and mechanisms by which structural conformation plays key role in plant adaptation.
